We take potato harvesting here in our little town seriously. It is quite the celebration. School gets let out for 2 weeks so teenagers can help in the harvest. They open up spud harvest with a big parade. Usually our family reunion always lands on this weekend so we have never got to go to the parade but this year it was a week later. We were excited to take the kids to the parade. It is the most perfect parade. About 1 hour long. Tons of candy and lots of fun floats. The coolest thing is at the beginning a airplane goes over and drops tons and tons of ping pong balls from the sky. Each of our kids got one. They have prizes written on them. After the parade they have free spuds in the park for everyone. Lots of fun family activities. It was a fun day to spend with friends.
