Potato Picking

This is something our kids look forward to every year. Lots of people probably think we are silly but the kids beg for it. There is always a potato field right across the road from us. When they get harvested lots of potatos are left behind. We always hook the trailer behind the four-wheeler and go potato picking. Potatos  are not really expensive. In fact I am sure we spend more on four wheeler gas but we do it for the memories. We have lots of fun as a family out there getting dirty. This was Lincoln's first year. We pretty much were in charge of driving the four wheeler. We did this two evenings. It usually stocks us up with potatoes for all winter and some. I am glad that our kids find joy in simple things. It doesn't take going somewhere fancy or traveling lots to put smiles on these kids faces. Thank goodness because owning your own business especially as a health care provider sure makes it hard to get on many vacations. So for now we will take advantage that "potato picking" is fun.
