Sunday

This Sunday morning we had it all together and were ready too early so I took the kids outside to snap some pics.

Summers Project

This is one thing that Jaman and I always wanted when we finally had a house and had land to do so. When we bought the house it had a huge garden spot. Since we now had lawn and landscape we could finally focus on growing a garden this year. It turned out well. Gardens are a lot of work keeping them weeded but I can't say how much I love to go and pick FRESH produce. It is seriously the best. The kids loved being able to pick peas and eat them as they played outside. I froze tons of green beans and corn. It was fun to work as a family and do this project. The kids took such pride and today as it is snowing Taylor was sad and said our garden was going to be ruined. I told them it was that time of year where it is going to die and we will have to replant next year. I am glad I had parents who taught me how to raise a garden and the importance of work. I love where we live. These past two weeks the kids have been out of school for spud harvest. We live in spud central. That is even our school mascot. We live across from a potato field of a friend in the ward. After they harvested it we took the kids out on the 4 wheeler and gathered 2 big boxes of fresh russet potatos. This is something we did growing up. It was fun to start that little tradition. They had a ball walking through the field picking potatos. As I said no pictures. Terrible Mom.

Kids Pond

They have the cutest fish pond just 4 miles from our house. It is actually pretty big. I would call it a mini lake. They stock it every year and you have to be under 14 to fish. We took our kids one evening after a big rainstorm. They caught all these fish in 40 minutes. I think everytime Jaman would get them a new worm on their pole they were reeling them in. Bridger caught the biggest this night. He was quite the proud fisherman. I hate fish unless under one condition. Jaman is seriously the best fish griller. He uses butter and this awesome seasoning and grills them and does it a way all the skin comes off and it is the best. It does not taste fishy at all. So we love to have fish on summer nights on the grill.

Family Reunion Part 1

This was the Silcock reunion. My dad's side of the family. Each year we have it at the family cabin. It is always a lot of fun and Taylor has named it the cotton candy reunion. That is one of the things she remembers each year. My uncle bob has a huge cotton candy machine and makes cotton candy for all the kids one night. Ok for the adults too. I must say I still love cotton candy even if it is just sugar. I love reunions for family to all get together. This is the one time a year that we see some of our cousins so it is fun. I love that my kids are able to get to know their 2nd cousins.

Pinata night!!! Always a favorite. My uncle Russ did the pinata this year and it was loaded with full size candy bars. He and Karen did really good. One of the favorite things it had in it were coupons for lunch dates with Great Grandma. Taylor has one that she still needs to use. This is Great Grandma smacking away. We all talked her into getting up there. My kids adore their great grandma as much as I do. Taylor is actually named after her. Everytime we visit my parents they can't not see Great Grandma. She is the best.

Family Reunion

Taylor and her cousin Anniston. These two are seriously two peas in a pod. I think they played the most together at the reunion. We would always have to find them. Sometimes they were being naughty and into things. Other times they were playing as cute as can be. They both are so outgoing and fearless to get dirty.

Great Grandma with all her Great Grandchildren.

Taylor blowing her marshmellow gun at a stuffed bear. My Aunt Leah did a fun bear hunt for the kids and had stuffed bears all around they had to hunt out and find and shoot with marshmellows.

Swimming

Well I guess today is the day I sit down at the computer to catch up. It was the snow that made me. It put a damper on my day. I am so not ready for this weather. It was so nice to sit down and look at these fun summer pictures and only imagine it was still here. Some days I tell Jaman I would be content living somewhere where it was warm all year long. I am so far behind. Summer came and went to fast. Looking back at my pictures I also realized I was a terrible picture taker this summer. I don't have a ton of pictures. I told myself I am going to try to do a lot better. This particular weekend we were visiting family. My sister and I took our kids swimming at the little kid pool. My kids loved it. We actually had the pool to ourselves for a long time. They had so much fun we took them the next day as well. I didn't get any pictures of it but we took the kids to our little hometown pool a few times this summer. They have a family swim that lasts for an hour and one night we had the whole pool to ourselves. They loved that as well. They both would go down the slide and would swim to the side themselves. (with life jackets). For this I was thankful because they did it over and over again.
