Potato Picking
This is something our kids look forward to every year. Lots of people probably think we are silly but the kids beg for it. There is always a potato field right across the road from us. When they get harvested lots of potatos are left behind. We always hook the trailer behind the four-wheeler and go potato picking. Potatos are not really expensive. In fact I am sure we spend more on four wheeler gas but we do it for the memories. We have lots of fun as a family out there getting dirty. This was Lincoln's first year. We pretty much were in charge of driving the four wheeler. We did this two evenings. It usually stocks us up with potatoes for all winter and some. I am glad that our kids find joy in simple things. It doesn't take going somewhere fancy or traveling lots to put smiles on these kids faces. Thank goodness because owning your own business especially as a health care provider sure makes it hard to get on many vacations. So for now we will take advantage that "potato picking" is fun.

Bridger's 4th Birthday
Bridger turned a big 4 this year. It was his year to have a friend party. I let my kids have one every other year. It is a lot of work but a lot of fun. He wanted to have a pirate party. So that is what we did. We had an obstacle course, a treasure hunt, and a pinata. The kids had a lot of fun. Once they came in for cake Jaman had came home for lunch and put on a magic show for the kids. He is such a fun dad. The kids LOVED the magic. He had there every attention. They kept asking for more. That night Grandpa and Grandma stopped by and had some cake with the family. We love Bridger so much. He has such a big heart. He is always willing to help and is always wanting conformation from me that he makes good choices. He has such a passion for guns and hunting. He loves every chance he gets to go with his dad. He loves to be with his dad. They build things together, go on four wheeler rides and shoot guns together. He loves sports. He is such a natural athlete and is very good at them. He has such a love for Jesus. He always talks about serving a mission someday and getting married in the temple. He is quite the little ladies man. We love you Bridger!

Spud Days
We take potato harvesting here in our little town seriously. It is quite the celebration. School gets let out for 2 weeks so teenagers can help in the harvest. They open up spud harvest with a big parade. Usually our family reunion always lands on this weekend so we have never got to go to the parade but this year it was a week later. We were excited to take the kids to the parade. It is the most perfect parade. About 1 hour long. Tons of candy and lots of fun floats. The coolest thing is at the beginning a airplane goes over and drops tons and tons of ping pong balls from the sky. Each of our kids got one. They have prizes written on them. After the parade they have free spuds in the park for everyone. Lots of fun family activities. It was a fun day to spend with friends.

LOVE
I know that I have said this lots but I will say it again I love where we live. One evening I was sitting on the front porch swings with Lincoln. We sure did this alot. The sun was setting and it started to rain but the sun was still shinning. I looked out and was just caught in the moment. I was overwhelmed by my Heavenly Fathers love. I had an overwhelming feeling that were we live is where Heavenly Father wanted us. I am thankful for such a great community to bring my kids up in. I love living in the country. I love to be able to look out and see for miles. I love that at night I can go outside and look at a sky filled with beautiful stars. I am thankful that my Heavenly Father loved us enough to create such a beautiful world for us to live on. We are blessed.

Rock On Climb On
This past summer our great friend fell 70 ft rock climbing. He was so lucky to be alive. He crushed everything in his body waist down. He spent two months in the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries. It was such a hard time for him and his family. Everyone put together a wonderful benefit concet to help raise money to help with medical expenses. It was a great experience to take the kids to help raise money for a great family. They had to race baby goldfish down rain gutters by blowing them with a straw. The kids absolutely loved it. At the end they could either pick a prize or take their goldfish home. I about died when they each come running to me with their bagged goldfish. Jaman looked at me with a big smile and said they are only kids once right. So we had pet goldfish for a few weeks. Lets just say we are not to good with pets.

The BEAST
So this car is a legend in our family! We call it the BEAST. It has gotten this nickname because this car gets through anything. It moved our family to Kansas. It endured a few trips back and forth from Kansas it Idaho. It goes back and forth back and forth to work everyday. It is pretty much our run around car. Jaman wishes it would die so he can get a new car to take to work but it just won't die so therefore it continues on to be the beast. Funny thing is out of the 3 vehicles it seems to be the kids favorite. No idea why. This summer night Jaman had to deliver something to the neighbor down the road so the kids rode with him. Lincoln and I sat on the front porch swings and the next thing I heard was kids yelling and laughing. Jaman had let them ride out the sunroof. They thought that was the coolest thing ever. They thought they had the coolest dad ever. It is funny how the silliest probably the dumbest things kids never forget and talk about often. So here is a shout out to you my beast! Thanks for being the best car!! Thanks for entertaining us on summer nights!
